Paperdoll Art Studio is looking for talented, friendly and reliable Freelance Splatter Painting Instructors to join our growing team at Wimbledon Art Studios.
We specialise in creative splatter painting experiences for adults, children, families and corporate groups. Our workshops are fun, expressive and accessible, with a strong focus on helping guests create artwork they're genuinely proud of.
We're looking for artists with a solid painting background, a good understanding of colour and composition, and the confidence to guide people through the creative process.
About the Role
You'll lead splatter painting workshops, helping guests experiment with colour, explore painting techniques and create their own abstract artwork.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading splatter painting workshops for adults, children, families and groups.
Guiding guests with colour selection, composition, layering and painting techniques.
Helping guests develop their paintings while encouraging their individual creativity.
Creating a welcoming, engaging and enjoyable experience.
Managing workshops independently and keeping sessions on schedule.
Preparing materials, setting up and cleaning the studio before and after classes.
Maintaining a safe, clean and organised studio environment.

A good understanding of colour theory, composition and painting techniques.
A portfolio demonstrating your own painting practice.
A friendly, confident and approachable personality.
The ability to explain artistic ideas clearly to beginners.
Patience and enthusiasm when working with adults and children.
Strong organisational skills, reliability and punctuality.
Weekend and some evening availability, which is essential for this role.
Comfortable leading occasional painting workshops for children.
Previous teaching or workshop experience is desirable but not essential. Training in our splatter painting techniques and workshop approach will be provided.

Weekends are particularly busy, with larger group bookings, children's parties, family sessions and private celebrations taking place primarily on Saturdays and Sundays.
Depending on customer bookings and availability, instructors may be offered one to three classes per day, particularly at weekends.
We're looking for artists who can offer regular availability during these periods and are comfortable leading multiple sessions when needed.
Class assignments are offered according to bookings, and instructors remain free to accept or decline individual offers.

Our freelance instructor fees depend on class duration and the number of guests attending, with each class typically accommodating 2–6 guests.
1-hour classes: £30–£55 per class
2-hour classes: £50–£85 per class
Additional earning opportunities: Potential incentives and commissions, subject to the applicable arrangements.
Fees are calculated according to the duration of the session and guest numbers. The agreed class fee covers preparation, setup, teaching and cleaning up afterwards.
The applicable fee and any additional incentives or commissions will be communicated when each class assignment is offered.
